Pineapple Planter

The second I saw this amazing pineapple mug on Urban Outfitters, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I am discovering that I have an unhealthy addiction to all things pineapple this summer (even though I hate to eat them. ick.) But they are cute, so I definitely don't mind looking at them.... or versions of them. 

I thought since I was making this amazing planter anyways, I might as well share on my little slice of the interweb for all to see. This is literally the most simple, no-brainer DIY that has ever existed ever. So get excited, because it only requires you to stop gawking at everyone else's Pinterest boards (at pins you only wish you had the motivation to attempt) for like 5 minutes. 

All you will need for this little project is THIS Urban Outfitters mug (Or any other mug you want to use), and a succulent, cactus, or other small plant of your choice. There were quite a few plants that I think would have helped the mug look exactly like a pineapple, but I thought it'd make it a bit more fun to have it look a bit different. Aloe vera plants are the way to go if you'd like it to look super pineapple-esque. 

Once you have chosen your plant, simply take it out of the pot it came in, loosen the soil, and put it in your mug, and VOILA! I had to ditch a bit of the soil that came on mine as it wouldn't all fit, but that is totally okay. 

The reason I went with a succulent, is because they are SO low maintenance and live literally forever. Like you can't mess this up guys. I decided that my finished pineapple planter should live right next to my bed. It definitely adds a fun pop of color and texture to the room. I am absolutely in love. I know that is pitiful that all it takes to make me happy in this life is a mug that looks like a pineapple, but I'm owning it! Urban Outfitters you complete me!
