Summer Favourites

I haven't been doing loads of shopping lately. Mostly because we are trying to save save save for things to come, but I did have a few bits and bobs that I have been using pretty much religiously that I thought would be worth sharing!

The first would be the new Revlon Colorstay Gel Nail Polish. This stuff is the actual bomb! I think you definitely have to use the top coat for it to work, and it may even work better with a base coat, but I am now on day 9 of pretty toes and I have like zero chips. I would say it is probably better to be a little light-handed when applying as it can build up and easily smudge and mark when you first apply it. I rarely paint my nails, but this stuff is a game changer!

I posted a mini Kiehl's haul a few weeks back here, and I think that was the beginning of my love affair with this brand. Their products are a bit pricey, but they are also just what my skin needs. Because I am basically ancient, (and because I just moved to a window desk in my office) I decided to start wearing sunscreen on my face on a daily basis.  I was quite nervous at first because sunscreen pretty much always makes my skin go crazy, but I never even notice that this spf is on my skin. I apply it in the morning before I moisturize and apply my makeup, and voila..protected! I also exclusively wore this on my face in Greece recently, and my face was about the only part of me that didn't burn.

I picked up these two Zara perfumes while in Greece, and am so in love with them. I think I mentioned before that I am a Miss Dior girl to the core, but I have been experimenting with scents lately to see if there are any more affordable options I like [almost] as much. The green one is Pear and White Flowers, and is such a pretty fresh floral scent. I really used to like floral scents when I was younger, and I think that is an element to why I love this one so much. The pink one is the one I have been wearing most days. It is called Midnight Mauve. Bear with me, as I am probably the worst at describing scents ever, but it seems sort of like a fresh powder clean scent. No? Basically it smells really freaking good and it lasts FOREVER! Both of these costs less than 15 pounds!

I have been using the Great Lash waterproof mascara recently and have been absolutely obsessed. I feel like every few years, I pop into a Rite Aid, or Boots, or Walgreens and just pick one up and use it for like months on end, and then it just disappears for a couple of years. It's honestly a never ending cycle. One of the best waterproofs on the market, and I love love love how affordable it is.

If you haven't jumped on the make your brows looks super cool trend, then where have you been? The Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil is an official new holy grail for me. I don't think I can ever not use it. Go buy it. You'll love it.

Next up are the eyelash curlers. I literally have nothing to say aside from they curl the living daylights out of your lashes. I was desperate for a set a couple of weeks ago and just grabbed the first ones I saw in Superdrug. I can not believe these don't get more hype! They are from a brand called Lottie London. They have some pretty nifty looking makeup brushes that I definitely want to try out as well! The only thing I wish these pair had was a spare insert like most other curlers have. Not a deal breaker by any means though.

The last of my recent favorites would be the two books pictured. I had been in a book rut for the last few weeks, and have really struggled to get into the books I was trying to read. I picked a few new ones up after getting fed up of trying to read George Orwell for about 3 weeks straight and I absolutely loved these two. Me Before You was such an easy read and I only cried for like half an hour while reading it. It's just been released as a movie as well, so I may try to go see that soon! (Although I always always always hate the movie after reading the book) I am currently halfway through Finding Audrey, and am loving it just as much. Totally different tone from the Jojo Moyes book, but enjoying it either way!

P.S. Sorry if you see the American form of favorites and the English form intertwined. I (and my laptop) get really confused sometimes.
